Kayak Night Sprint Regatta

The Limassol Nautical Club (LNC) and Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) sought to introduce a dynamic new event to Limassol, Cyprus, that would not only showcase the sport of kayaking but also attract international interest and participation.

1ST TIME EVER 

The inaugural International Kayak Night Sprint Regatta was conceived. This unique event, held under the prestigious International Canoe Federation (Planet Canoe), offered a thrilling night-time race setting amidst the picturesque Limassol Marina. The “Night Sprint” format and Limassol’s inviting location were promoted to attract international athletes. Securing three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Zoltan Kammerer as the event ambassador and participant boosted prestige and public interest. 

 

The event drew international and local kayakers, including Olympians and medalists, creating an atmosphere of high-level competition. The participation of the Olympic champion elevated the event’s profile and inspired aspiring athletes. The innovative night races and stunning Limassol Marina backdrop generated significant local excitement and media attention. The event exceeded expectations, achieving its goal of fostering a love for kayaking while celebrating athletic excellence.
